WELCOME TO THE 1stMuchalls/Newtonhill Scout Group Official Website The 1st Muchalls/Newtonhill Scout Group is a registered charity . The Group is made up of the following sections, which all meet weekly in the Bettridge Centre: Beavers (6 – 8 yrs): Tuesday 6.00pm – 7.00pm
Cubs (8 – 10 ½ yrs): Tuesdays 6.30pm – 8.00pm

GROUP INFO
The subscriptions that you pay to your child’s section are used for: · Running costs for the section, including books, badges etc · Capitation fees paid each January to Scout Headquarters · Small levy to cover District activities · Annual rent for the Halls This money does not cover essential expenditure such as:
# Purchase of essential group equipment # Funding for extra activities Additional funds must be raised by the group to meet these costs. The Executive Committee organise a number of fundraising events throughout the year. The money raised is essential for the upkeep of the extra activities and the general running of the group so please support us whenever you can and do let us know if you have any great fundraising ideas. KEEPING IN TOUCH It is essential that we have an up to date e-mail address for each child. This should be that of a parent/guardian and not the child and will be used to communicate essential information about the group’s activities only. This will be the only form of communication between the Scout Group and individuals, so if we do not have an address you may miss out on valuable information. Please make sure that your section leader has your e-mail address , and is kept up to date with any changes.
DATA PROTECTION Any information held by the Scout Group sections, such as details of name, address and contact details, will only be used in connection with the Scout Group and will not be passed to third parties without your consent. You may ask to see the information that we hold. You can be involved in the running of the group by:
· Joining the Executive Committee
· Helping at fundraising events
· Becoming a leader/helper for any of the sections.

 OUR MEETING PLACE THE BETTRIDGE CENTRE THIS IS A UNIQUE CENTRE THAT IS OWNED BY THE VILLAGE OF NEWTONHILL AND IS RUN BY A DEDICATED VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE THAT EMPLOY STAFF TO RUN IT DAILY. IT CATERS FOR OUR GROUPS NEEDS AS IT HAS A SMALL HALL /LARGE HALL{with full stage} /LOUNGE & CAFE BAR & KITCHEN. WE DO COMMUNITY SERVICES FOR THE CENTRE TO GAIN OUR COMMUNITY CHALLENGE AWARD AND HELP OUT OUR LOCAL CENTRE. THE CENTRE HOSTS THEMED CHILDRENS PARTIES AND HIRES OUT ALL AREAS OF THE BUILDING IF YOU REQUIRE ANY INFO LOOK ON THEIR WEBSITE OR DROP THEM AN E-MAIL.   |
